TendonOk i did search around and didnt find much of what i wanted.

I Am 21, In the USA, Ca.

I am looking for books. such as,

Merlin's post about the book about "o MEYER, Werner. Den Freunden ein Schutz, den Feinden zum Trutz: Die deutsche Burg. 2, verbesserte Aufl. Frankfurt a.M. 1969.
>Follows the evolution of castles from the earliest earthwalls to the late middle ages and contains beautifull illustrations."
http://www.castlesontheweb.com/quest/Forum10/HTML/000066.html

I am looking for how they started, and why they changed they way they did. Weapons that caused the cahnges.

I really want to know, why the built somthing and the reason it was built the way it was.

The books have to be in english.

I am working on a story, and i am doing research. in weapons, "magic" and things like that to roughly base stuff upon.

Tendon.

Tendonanyone?
MariaI haven't had time to look for books yet, but a usefull weapon site should be http://www.thearma.org/essays.htm
As to books, you ask general questions, so perhaps if you asked for books on castles at your local library, you would get them faster.
TendonDone that, Not very good books.

Thanks i really would like all the help you can give.

TendonStill would like any input.
PeterYou are not going to get one 'total' book that will cover all that ground (as you have no doubt already guessed). I have tried myself enough times. There is;
The Decline of the Castle .. M. W. Thompson
Now as a reprint from Magna Books;
ISBN 1 85422 608 8.
Chaper 3 is 'Warfare in England and France'.

Military Architecture ... Quentin Hughes
Beaufort Press ISBN 1 85512 008 9
is a good general moving up to the present day.
And lotsa and lotsa other to plow through.
Peter

TendonDont get me wrong, i am not looking for one book i am looking for many good books.

Tendon.
