Paul SkinnerDoes anyone have information on Enmore Castle in England? Any Pictures? Family History of occupants? Thanks,
Paul
wurdsmiffDon't know much about English sites or if there was such a castle. since no responses so far, am prompted to ask if you could mean Kenmore, in Scotland?
John BallCould you possibly mean Ennor Castle in the Scilly Isles?
AJRSorry to add to this so late. There is an Enmore Castle in Somerset, OS Map Ref ST 239352 - details in Robert W. Dunnings's "Somerset Castles", published by Somerset Books in 1995. I can provide the information from this book if you so require.

Meanwhile, John Kinross's "Discovering Castles in England & Wales" states that -
A few miles west of Bridgwater, Enmore belonged to William Malet, a Norman soldier who fought at Hastings, but the present building, dating from the 18th century, was constructed by John Perceval, Earl of Egmont.

AJR
