I am trying to find out some information about Klingenthal Castle (near Strasbourg). So far no-one seems to have heard of it. If anyone can tell me anything about this castle, I would be most grateful.

Levan Not sure about its history, but Klingenthal Castle is a now regular venue for intergovernmental conferences.
Klingenthal was famous for sword manufacture - there are a number of examples in Edinburgh Castle. In 1733 Louis XV established the 'Manufacture d'Armes Blanches d' Alsace' in Kingenthal (which means valley of blades).

duncan As a side note. The blades made in that area were and still are highly prized. The metal is of a very good grade even in todays standards. Sorry if this does'nt help your search.

Levan I've contacted the tourist board in Klingenthal who replied with the following information:
"You wanted some Information online about the castle of Klingenthal. We can't give you any informations online, because the castle in Klingenthal since very many years never exists.

Tourist-Information Klingenthal"
