kelleynpAbout a year or so ago, I asked about Dilston Hall and/or Dilston Castle. A gentlemen sent me some information on Dilston including the names of some books and also a floor plan of Dilston. I printed the information and now I can't find it. Can anyone help? Thank you, Nancy
PeterDilston Castle is in Northumberland. A stone castle may have existed there from 1317. There is also a hall nearby which is used as a Training Unit. There are good remains. There is good information & plans in Mike Salters 'The Castles and Tower Houses of Northumberland'. Please contact me for more information if you wish.
wurdsmiffThere is also an extensive history of ownership of the estate and the buildings built on the site in Bastions and Beligerants, by John F Dodds, details of the book are in the Book Nook at http://www.castlesontheweb.com/quest/Forum10/HTML/000057.html
