MK ------------------ Gordon. MK Gordon. [This message has been edited by wurdsmiff (edited 11-23-2000).] MKMidas Kinght It's me again, looking for info on the fortress Krak of the Chevliers, the Hospitalier fportress in Palestine. I have a pic in a book, and I think it is one of the most imposing, beautiful and brutal looking castles I have ever seen. I read that its only weakness was the aquaduct that fed the resevoir/moat. In my quest for the best possible castle design or splicing of designs, this is one of the most fantastic fotresses I've found. Does anyone know where I can find more pics, plans, cutaways, and such on it? In one of those cross-sections books, there's a couple pages for it, but, not nearly enough. All help is appreciated. wurdsmiff See the reply given by Philip at http://www.castlesontheweb.com/quest/Forum7/HTML/000187.html
- and just in case Savoy's post goes AWOL again, and you lose his link, I'll retype it for you, http://babsouria.online.fr/gald772.htm

The outline was of great help....is the inner castle really some odd sq miles? i figured out a rough estimate of the inner perimeter, roughly changed from metric to standard, and came up with a few square miles of interior castle. I can't help but think I misfugures. Also, the pics were great from Savoy's link, but can anybody translate the French for me? Thanks again, guys! wurdsmiff Levan provided this translation engine in a previous mail. Thanks to Savoy for saving me the arithmetic,.... and for the vote of confidence in the translation engine!
