I can't seem to find it anywhere on the web. ipflo Swallow's nest castle lies on the crimea in the Ukraine. It is the symbol of the south coast of the crimea. It was built in 1912 by the architect Architect A. Sherwood and the building survived a heavy earthquake in 1927.
it is not really a castle, but more a folly
http://www.castlesontheweb.com/quest/Forum21/HTML/000064.html Stacie Thanks for the reply. childstar413 I am a writer of historical fiction and interested in knowing what type of dwelling a Marquis would occupy with his family, and if such a dwelling would be found in the Manchester, England area. If not Manchester, please advise a good location north of London. I would like to set my next story in such a location and any background you can provide will be much appreciated. Background will include terrain, industry, leisure, responsibilities of a Marquis, social engagements, events etc, around the time of 1872. Thank you!
All the best, Kyrila
