Visit; Gordon's Scottish Castles Resource Page wns-student I have another question to ask! Do u know wut the word 0bselete means And were I kind find information on this question, Why/When did castles become Obselete???? Could u answer that question????? wns-student Can u help me and chose another question for learning about castles...??? Cause Im in the sky! wns-student I have another questions can u help me with another question for learning about castles cause IM in the sky!!! wns-student How long does it take u guys to reaspond not that im mad or n thing iM just curius Gordon How long does it take us to respond? Well that depends on when we come on line. We are all just enthusiasts who do this (apparently) for fun. We are just members like you who stayed around for a while because we like talking about castles, we don't get paid for this, we don't sit in front of our PC's all day waiting for someone to post. We are just regular guys with regular jobs and regular families just like everyone else. We come on when we can, and when we want to talk castles, and if we can or want to answer a question, then we do.
What does obsolete mean? Same as it means any other time in English...no longer functioning as originally intended because the function is no longer required, or the function cannot be performed because of new developments. In the case of the castle this means that with more settled times, or the development of new weapons such as cannon, there was no point in building big castles for defense, because things were generally more peaceful and you didn't need to defend yourself, or if you did someone would just have come along and blown away your thick walls and battlements with big guns. Read some of the old mails as I suggested before, we've discussed this at length. Or go to my web page linked below , use the Index then info links to find articles on How Gunpowder affected castles, and the Development of Castles.
Setting you another question about castles, well if I do that you are just going to ask us where to find the answer, so use all the links I've given you and you can find answers, then you won't need a question!
But if it's really a question you want, then look at the old mails in any forum, each of them is a question.
