RainWalker03I'm working on a history project & I need to know what type of things are in a castle? And if anyone could possibly help me out here, how many acres would you said would be needed to put up a castle & then have enough for 2 fields of food & a forest for protection...oh yea, not to mention, have a mote around the castle. Thanks for any help that I can recieve
RainWalker03Also, another thing, if you would, please send the responses to my email...RainWalker03@aol.com
GordonWe don't do e-mail responses. If you read some of the old mails or possibly even do some other research you'll find that castles come in all sorts of shapes and sizes and that your question is unanswerable.

LevanIt was rarely a case of determining how much land was needed to put up a castle - more often, it was more a case of how much land you had before you could afford to build a castle. Amount of land owned was very closely linked to determining one's wealth.
