Been missing for a while, guys, sorry, been researching flat out for a new fiction book. Paul.Dorothy Davies Apart from kings and rich dukes, did anyone else have glass in their castle homes? And can anyone tell me where the glass came from? What workshop was making glass in medieval times? Paul Hello Dorothy, take a look at http://www.castles-of-britain.com/castlezd.htm
Regards,Dorothy Davies thanks, Paul, that's a great help. Peter Some years ago we had a week hol's in the Champagne-Ardenne region of France. Visiting the glass works at 'Bayel'. Whilst the castle is long gone there is still a fortified church there.
In medieval times the glass was blown/made inside the castle, and the workmen fiercely protected by its Lord.
Did have another castle name on the same lines, will try and dig it out for you.
Peter
