So far, it appears that the wealthy might exchange portraits, and the poor would remarry as soon as possible, just to survive. Quite likely, there was a priest that did a lot of the ceremonies, and formalities. Beyond that though... Was there dating, and engagements? Dowrys? ------------------ I guess the royals might talk about their children while they were feasting and hunting and such, and as some have mentioned, there could be an exchange of portraits. I suppose they ladies might have been "Presented," sort of like in victorian era balls and such. Then, once the parents knew that a potential match existed, what next? Does the dowry come before the wedding, or after? Is there an exchange of gifts ahead of time? But how did the arrangements go? I mean daddy didn't just open up the newspaper, and say "Ah, Check this out Junior, says there's a new bride in town..."
