Thank you, Thomas ------------------ All help is appreciated for any information you can supply. Thomas ------------------ [This message has been edited by Gordon (edited 03-01-2002).] it is not a castle in france, but in austria, to be exactly Anif Castle near Salzburg. In a moment i wil post some links on this topic ------------------ from http://www.schlosswirt-anif.com/frame_e.html i have taken some history on the castle: The nearby castle from which the hotel takes its name, is of considerable historical interest, having first been mentioned in documents of the Archbishopric of Salzburg in 1520. Even earlier references, albeit less precise, may also be found. From 1693 to 1814 the castle served as a summer-residence of the Prince-Archbisops of Chiemsee. In 1800 an Englisch-garden was added, and between 1835 and 1848 the entire castle was reconstructed in romantic style by Count Alois Arco. you can find some other pics of anif castle on My compliments to such a helpful group of intelligent folks... I am most appreciative. Thanks again, Thomas ("Not continental" meant for me that I located it as a altered castle in a neogothic stile somewhere in Great Britain … think I was seduced by the horizontal gothic stile and the wide window rows … and it really is in Austria?) P.S. Another very romantesque water moulded castle is Mespelbrunn castle near Würzburg in Germany. http://www.germanworld.com/images/mespel.jpg [This message has been edited by Peter Esser (edited 03-04-2002).] maybe these sites can comvinces you that it is in austria: ------------------t.hodges I have a image of a castle that I need to identify. If there anyone here that would like to identify it, if I send them the small jpeg? Gordon Why not load it up into the photo archive then everyone can have a look.

Visit; Gordon's Scottish Castles Resource Page t.hodges Thank you, didn't know you had such! I have placed the photo in the Misc. category. Peter Esser Doesn’t look very "continental" … t.hodges Meaning non-European? How so? Gordon It's not one I know. Where did you get the picture?
'Demeure par la verite'
Visit; Gordon's Scottish Castles Resource Page t.hodges Actually, my photo source is an acquaintance that claims this is the "Castle Devore" in France (a family he claims decendancy) and this photo is proof. I believe the story is B.S. but have no way to claim so. Internet searches on the name return nothing, so I thought I would approach topical experts with the photo. ipflo well i can confirm it is 'b.s.' ipflo a similar picture as you have posted, you can find on http://www.castles.org/castles/Europe/Central_Europe/Austria/austria1.htm
