------------------Nissa Hello there -
I am trying to get information about social clubs which include people who are interested in castles. Are there any clubs which do annual or bi-annual trips to castles? So my Topic is, Social Clubs which involve Castles - do they exist and where?
(Hopefully they have muggle-access).
As I live in California I would be most interested in those which are located in the US. Maybe a Renaissance club is the way to go? If you have any information or suggestions, please let me know.
Thanks. Peter Phew !
I wish there were a few clubs like that over here in the U.K.
Although we do have the Castle Studies Group.
I know there are Re-inactment Groups in the States. But whether they are more interested in bashing each other with replica weapons I'm not too sure.
Will have a look for you; if someone doesn't give you the information (if any) first.LadyCordelia The SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism) reenacts Medieval times, I think that's what Peter is talking about. Their website is http://www.sca.org/
I don't know about any groups who tour castles.
"Carpe Dium"
"Seize the Day"Peter Thanks LadyCordelia,
I'd forgotten those. We do have an American friend who visited a few years ago who belonged to them.
Although I only live in a humble cottage, I do own a few 'pieces'. Our friend grabbed a battle-axe off the wall, and started to demonstrate a few moves with it. My wife and I dived to safety .... as I pointed out that due to our low ceilings, this was not a good idea !
