HawkeyeDid anybody see the new king Arthur movie?
I thougt it was pretty good. It's not the original tales of king Arthur that you usually hear, but it's still really good. They based it off of who historians think he really was.
Anyway I just thought I would ask. If anybody wants to discuss it, or any other movie or book you're more than welcome to.

#fred10#I haven't seen the movie 'King Arthur' yet. It looks quite good. My husband and I usually wait until movies come out on video or we rent it off the TV when it is available.

There is a beautiful castle in the movie 'Ever After' with Drew Barrymore and Dougray Scott. Based on the Cinderella story. At the end of the movie and credits and such, I see it's a castle in France, but couldn't figure out which one. It's absolutely beautiful! But, of course, this movie may not be for everyone. Very romantic, 'medieval type' of movie. Although, my husband liked it and he usually doesn't like movies like that.

Another good movie was 'A Knights Tale' with Heath Ledger. I think many of the pics though were on a set and not an actual castle. But, some of it was shot at a castle, not sure which one though. But, great movie anyway!

I can't think of any others right now, but I've seen many movies, so feel free to jog my memory!

HawkeyeI haven't seen 'Ever After'. I'm not sure I've heard of that one before.

I have seen 'A Knight's Tale'. It's one of my favorite movies. I'm not sure how much of it was inside of a castle or not. I know hollywood usually builds their sets.

An old movie I was watching the other day was 'Willow'. It's not that great of a movie anymore, but it had castle in it. I'm not sure which one.

Have you read 'Time Line' by Michael Chriton? It's a great book. I've seen the movie, but it's not nearly as good as the book. In fact the movie, and book almost tell two different stories. It has the same characters, and the main goal is the same, but how they go about doing it is completely different.

#fred10#I think the movie 'Ever After' is from 1998/99, not sure. 'Willow' I think was from about 1984 or so. Wasn't Val Kilmer in that movie? Pretty good movie though.

Another good movie was 'Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves.' I think about 1990 for that one. I think there were some castle shots, but at that time, I was just watching Alan Rickman--superb actor!

I haven't read 'Time Line.' Actually, I haven't read much at all lately. I'm more of a movie buff I guess.

MerlinJust to remember: We got a special forum here at CQ to discuss movies: http://www.castlesontheweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/castles/forumdisplay.cgi?action=topics&forum=In+The+Movies&number=11&DaysPrune=1000&SUBMIT=Go

There you'll find the answers to many questions about castles in movies...

HawkeyeYeah Val Kil Kilmer was in 'Willow'.

Merlin,
Thanks for pointing that out. I guess I over looked that.

bloody_rose24well for me king arthur he is a guyn that always assuring the sexuallity of queen guiniver to lancelot. I've never wacth it but i read it. it is better to read than to watch.
does anyone who have the original book of king arthur?

tnx in advance.....

MerlinThe 'original book of king Arthur'??? You must be joking. The stuff was told and retold, written down and re-written during the whole middle ages and ever since. So there's no 'original' and never was.
