'lo all!

My fiancee and I have recently been batting around where to have our wedding, currently planned for July of 2002.

We are planning a very medieval theme, with the event culminating in a Bride's Party vs. Groom's Party mock battle. Until recently, we were planning to have the wedding around our area (New England) -- recently, though, we've been thinking that it might not be so impossible to actually get our guests over to England, Scotland or Wales for the wedding, and have it set on a castle grounds. What kind of regulations, if any, do CADW and English Heritage have for weddings, if we wanted to have the wedding in the courtyard of Beaumaris, for example?

Does anyone have a suggestion for an especially "charming" castle in those regions? Our wedding party will be fairly small (50 people at most, more like 30 though), so size isn't that much of a problem. Personally, I've always liked the concentric designs, and we'd definitely prefer to have the ceremony outside.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
-Doug

Slainte!
Though I do not have info on weddings abroad, I can tell you I had a beautiful medieval wedding at Hammond Castle in Gloucester, MA last August. We had a wonderful ceremony on the back lawn overlooking the Atlantic and feasted in the Great Hall...complete with a Madrigal Quartet.

All times are PT (US)
