Bran or Brahan? The more info you give the better the response. Where is the castle you are researching? Who did it belong to? etc.

Okay guys, just trying to reinforce a point made earlier. I appreciate that the alleged home of the bloodthirsty Count probably activates more interest than many other sites, but it wouldn't be the first time that Phonetic spelling had been used. More links below to Castle Bran, though note that one of them is Dinas Bran in Wales. Incidently, Castle Brahan in Scotland has it's own supernatural contact, as the home of Kenneth MacKenzie, 'The Brahan Seer' or Coinneach Odhar, who foretold many events of Scottish history, particularly related to the Dukes of Sutherland and the Earls of Seaforth (the latter had him burned in a barrel of tar for his trouble).
A sort of 'Highland Nostradamus' if you like,
and certainly someone who generates a lot of interest and book sales from tourists.

or this last, which might help to keep things moving!!!

A couple of these are currently off-line, though might be worth trying later.

Another incidental point, did you know that the fictional Castle Dracula is actually Slains, near Cruden Bay in Scotland? It was here that Brahm Stoker felt inspired to write his famed novel, and the inhabitants of Cruden Bay inspired the plot, although the people of Grimsby also laid claim to this.
