Chateau De Plain was built by Godfrey of Bouillon during the First Crusade as a cavalry post on the road from Jaffa to Jerusalem. Following its destruction by Saladin in 1191, it was rebuilt by King Richard Lion Heart who also lived there during his stay in the Holy Land. It was later delivered to the Templars. It was finally destroyed by Bibaras in the 13th Century. Only two towers and parts of the Northern Wall are still standing today. The other towers (estimated five) and the rest of the wall are buried underground.

I have organized a public foundation made of archeologists for its excavation and reconstruction. Academic sponsorship will be given by the Bar Ilan University in Israel. But, before we get the digging license from the Israel Antiquity Authority we need to show that we acquired enough financial backing to commence the work.
We prepared a detailed digging plan and budget accompanied by photos we took at the site, which is available for any sponsor.
Can you help?
