This is going to be a tough one. i was on a train going from Amsterdam to Venice. i went through Holland, a tiny bit of Germany, Austria, Switzerland and into Italy. about 10:00pm the train stopped at a small station. i looked out the window, to the north and right there was a castle with 2 spires towering above everything. it was dark out but there were floodlights lighting up the castle. it was a storybook midieval castle, and it took my breath away. i didn't expect to see anything like that. i searched the walls and signs of the train station, but there was no sign indicating where i was. i couldn't find a porter to ask either. i fell asleep before the train got to the next stop. the next morning i changed trains in Bonn about 8:30. i have searched and searched all the castles in Austria and i can't find anything that looks like my castle. it's driving me crazy. i couldn't see the terrain that well, but it was on the same level as the train station. it couldn't be one of those cliffside affairs, because trains don't go up or down cliffs. (not on purpose anyway) no, i wasn't seeing things, because another person i was sharing a compartment with saw it too--and gasped. does anybody have an idea what i saw?...p |

Hi Pearl, Your description makes no sense going Amsterdam-Venice. Where you travelling Venice-Amsterdam??? Also, it's impossible to go through only a tiny bit of Germany the way you describe. When did your train leave Venice/Amsterdam? Which way did you go through Austria? Did you go Trento -Innsbruck -Zurich -Basel -Bonn?? Can you please clear it up, and we may be able to help. Have you still got your ticket? | |
