Well, did some searching for you on several Italian search engines and came up with the following:
Pietramala seems to be a little village near Firenze (as can been seen on this map: http://www.zoomedia.it/Firenzuola/Hamlets.html )
From this village originates a family called Tarlati di Pietramala. This family seems to be a noble and powerful family in the Firenze region since the 14th century. One chap gets mentioned several times; a Guido Tarlati di Pietramala. But because my Italian is very bad I don't know if this is your baron. If your Italian is better you could better search for yourself. (if you go to http://www.castlesontheweb.com/quest/Forum12/HTML/000129.html you find a link to several Italian searchengines.)
And also there is a Pietra Castle in Tuscany (which is not quite the same name but it's near the region of Firenze) at http://www.castellitoscani.com/pietra.htm
Hope this helps.
