Hello, I am having difficulty in finding a detailed plan of Devizes Castle showing both the Norman earthworks, medieval remains and later buildings. I can find general plans showing the presumed remnants of the Castles Baileys in the towns streets and property boundaries, but none of the central Motte/Ringwork. RegardsGarry

You could try emailing Devizes castle, the address is available at there website at http://www.geocities.com/TheTropics/3670/index.html or contacting the Ordnance Survey at http://www.ordsvy.gov.uk/ where you can find details of how to obtain high resolution maps of the UK.------------------ And as I rode by Dalton-Hall Beneath the turrets high, A maiden on the castle-wall Was singing merrily: The Outlaw by Sir Walter Scott http://www.castlesontheweb.com/members/philipdavis/index.html
