Anybody know where I can find pictures or other information on Lichtenstein Castle, I believe in Bavaria? I saw a photo in a book sometime back, and was intrigued. On the whole, I've never been a big fan of German castlery, but there's something about this one...I must find more info on it.
thanks,
MK

Please note that this castle, built in the same style as the more famous Neu Schwanstein in Bavaria in the 19th century, has nothing to do with a medieval castle, even if there stood once a 'real' castle at the same place some centuries before. Why do you like especially (or only) this one? It looks, in my opinion, like Disneyland ...

Well, Merlin, I have no idea...just something got me. I always thought that the tower did look a little out of place. After following Gordon's link, I found out why, and why it is so like Neuschwandstein...The big tower was a 19th century addition. I wondered if it was defensible, and after reading a little, found it fell twice, even tho it os on nasty terrain to attack from. I think it is a good looking castle, but now that I have learned more of it, my interest has waned. thanks for the link, tho.
