Hello, newbie here. I will be taking another trip to Europe next summer and would like to find some "open to public" ruins to explore in Germany. After doing the Rhine boat tour we will be going to Wertheim in Baden Wurttenburg then down to Rothenberg in Bavaria and probably up through Nurnberg on the way to Prague. Coming back into Germany from Vienna and Budapest we will go through the Munich and Berchesgarten area then across through Fussen and through the Black Forest (Trieberg)with our last stop in Germany being Heildelberg before going on to Paris.

I would really like any information of interesting ruins that would be on or close to the route that we are taking.

I might add I have been to the ruins in Wertheim and Heidelberg. I'm looking for non-commercial, "enter at your own risk" sites. I know I visited a couple while in the service at Wertheim but that was over 33 years ago and I have no idea where they were.

Thank you very much. I had surfed through that site and apparently didn't drill deep enough. With the help of my German/English dictionary and a German map I should be able to come up with a couple of half day excursions. I think I have already found one that I visited while in the service.
