My family history originates in Austria. The two main family names are Welzer and Moritz. I have a family crest which has a lion wearing a crown, and a knight on it with plumes on it. I know that someone in my family was a knight who married a princess(not sure nationality of princess). The names Ludwig Welzer and Dietrich Welzer are within my family. Can anyone help??

You're in the wrong forum. This one is for questions about individual castles. You should post further down under "General Genealogy".

Welzer owned several castles in carinthia, an austrian province close to the border to Italy. They appear in historical notes beginning with the 14. century.
Try "+Frauenstein + Welzer " or "+Eberstein +Welzer " on google, or some of the following links : http://www.dickemauern.de/frauenstein_oe/bi.htm http://www.bda.at/aktuell/2003/schatzhaus_frauenstein.htm

That's great, thank you very much. I'll give it a try. :-)
