Topic: I'm searching for a castle

My name is Traia and I was told when I was little that my name comes from the name of a castle in Ireland. The name of the castle is supposedly Taia meaning freedom. But I have been on many Ireland websites and I can't find that castle anywhere. Does it actually exsist or have I been told a fairytale by my parents? If this castle really does exsist, do you know where I can get some information on it, or maybe where it is or used to be or something? I really appreciate your help. Thank you! |

Could they have meant Tara?
It's not a castle as one might think but was the fortress of the high kings of Ireland for century's.------------------

I checked with my dad, and the guy that told him about it had a very heavy accent. He said it could have been Tara, but he told him specifically that the castle's name meant freedom. Do you know where the ruins for Tara are located in Ireland? I looked it up on a website, but it didn't tell me any information about the location. It did say that it was a very religous place. But it also mentioned both pagan and christian. So I am a little bit confused about which religion used to worship there. Any information you have would be helpful. Thanks! |

He actually did say castle too, but if that is a common mistake then maybe he was mistaken as well. |

I don't think that Tara means freedom though... I usually get rocky pinnacle.Tara |

Although nothing to do with castles, there is the hill of Tara in Ireland.
You might want to sign the petition on this website http://www.hilloftara.info/ as there is a campaign to stop the M3 motorway from being built so near the ancient site. |
