Hello. I was shown some old photos by somebody who found them in an attic. He's curious to find out what castle is shown. He though it might be in Wales,as his late Father traveled a lot there, but it looks more French to me.Does anybody have any ideas? They are in the photo archive now under "miscellaneous":two old black-and-white photographs.

D'oh...I appear to have put them in twice. How do I delete one of them?

I've seen this one before.
No way is it in wales.
The walkway that you see at the lower right of the photo used to be a conduit that supplied water to the stronghold.
I'm pretty sure that it was involved in a siege at one time or another and cutting off the water supply lead to the downfall of this castle.
I'm thinking southern France or Spain.

Paul.

Thanks for looking,if it's name pops into your head, tell me.Cheers.

I found it! It's the Château de Robert-le-Diable in Moulineaux, Normandy (France). Here is the portrait (with more pictures, but all in german), on Burgenwelt.de: http://www.dickemauern.de/diable/index.htm

Now...is there any way I can modify the titles on the pictures, I wonder? I don't want to be confusing people indefinitely with the "mystery Castle" title.

Another mystery castle.
Recently I was wearing-out some old, dog-eared children's books in the library where I work. One of them was a junior book on castles. Most of the pictures were known to me,the usual famous buildings, but three were not captioned, oddly enough. One I have identified but not the other two.Its in 'Miscellaneous'under 'mystery castle'.It looks Spanish to me. Any ideas?

Thanks to the readers of the forum of www.burgenwelt.de the Spanish castle is the castle of Trujillo. I could not found more pictures of the castle, except for the following website (in German): http://www.eu-projekt.net/cms/front_content.php?idcat=43

What was the second castle you could not identify?

Thanks a million, Ipflo. I discovered some fine pictures of the castle here: http://www.flickr.com/search/?q=trujillo+castle I notice a fine Torre Albarrana. The other castle picture is now uploaded. Sorry about the poor quality of the scan.

Always interested to hear any views on the 'albarrana' towers of Spanish and Portugese castles. See my small photo archive on the subject here: http://www.castlesontheweb.com/photoarchive/index.php?action=one&photoid=7302&sessionid=

cheers

I have to do research on typical 11th century macbeth's castle and I have to include the banquet room, the bedrooms, the large open spacr in the middle, the watchtower, and the kitchen. Then I have to make it into a powerpoint. I need some sites to find that stuff on. Can anyone help me??

Dear Christina,
I suggest you start a new thread with your question, that way it's more likely to get an answer.
