Greetings~
Could someone give me information on what the castle was used for prior to the past 15 years? When it was rennovated? Where I might find out what it would be worth now? Or, where I might find this information myself?
Thanks,
Karie

Strangly Crossbasket is less than two miles from my home, and yet I have very little information on it recent history since I have only researched it's medieval history. Recent history I didn't research since it became the lesser part of a mansion which was not of interest to me.
You are not based locally or I would suggest going to the county library in Hamilton, or the Heritage centre in Motherwell, both hold several old local histories, and information on more recent owners,at least until last century. Any further info would have to be researched from county records in Hamilton.
The best way to find it's current value is to ask a local estate agent, who would have to have permission to inspect the property, and assess it's current state of repair/ need of modernisation.
How did someone in Colorado know about this relatively minor site?

My father lived there as a child before my great uncle James donated the castle to a charity upon his death.

I stayed at this castle in July of 1993 on a missionary trip. At that time the castle was run by a group called Latter rain ministry.

All times are PT (US)
