Hello there,I am new to this website. Found it and loved it. I am a third year university student doing a paper on castles. I am looking for some gereral information on the interior set up of castles. What it was like to live in them. What it felt like. Is there any good links? Thanks, Katty umbaxter@cc.umanitoba.ca |

Try looking at some of the past posting (set your castle quest preferences to all topics) particularly in the general discussion and building blocks forums http://www.castlesontheweb.com/quest/Forum5/HTML/000006.html has a bit about the nessecities of life. The sites at http://orb.rhodes.edu/ and http://netserf.cua.edu/ give good links to medieval resources on the web. However I have not found anything that really gives me insight into medieval living in a castle on the web. Books remain the best source of detailed info. I recommend the first chapters of Life in an English Country House (more detailed reference on my web site) but perhaps others can give good book references.------------------ Neurotics build castles in the air, psychotics live in them, Psychiatrists charge the rent, art therapists do the interior design and nurses clean out the garderobes! http://www.castlesontheweb.com/members/philipdavis/index.html
