I was having to do some work for class, and I was never able to figure out even the first question...
1) Explain what type of political system castles in the Mideval Ages were designed to support.
I've looked pretty much everywhere, and still can't find anything about the political systems. Can some-one please help?
Thanks!

It's called "Feudalism."

Feudalism- where the noble provides protection to serfs (with the castle) and the serfs provide the noble with food, money, labor, even clothing, in the form of taxes. Nobles needed special 'licences to crennalate' to build a castle, and they got the licences from the King (oh, yeah, they also swore to protect and serve the King, like the peasants did them).
Hope that helps- I'm not sure how much of that you know already, and I'm not certain I spelt 'crennalate' correctly.
