can someone help me find out how i find which castle i belonged to? I was told my family still owns one somewhere in france and i have no idea how to find out which one. My child needs a picture and some history for a class project. |

Not every family owned a castle, so you may be out of luck. Providing your surname might help someone here point you in the right direction. other than that all I can suggest is that you go to the Castle Collections section linked at the bottom of the page and do a search for France then read through the sites in the hope that someone has posted a page on a castle owned by that family. alternately type your surname into a search engine and see what comes up, or try searching for French geneology pages.
Try some name origin books, often they will give a little history too.------------------
