Looking for some message boards and user groups that discuss castles (mainly located in Great Britian).
Thanks

I've made fairly extensive searches of the web but this site (Castle Quest) is the only message board I know of that deals just with castles. Some Usenet groups do occassional mention castles (alt.medieval.history) if you can bare to wade through the postings of the paranoid psychotics who lurk in such groups (They use the groups to confirm their paranoid view that they are important enough to want people to get them by posting flame bait and other irksome posts) and the other more sensible posts about the details of various medieval battles (and occassionally interesting things about medieval lifestyle and social history). For those really serious there is a castle studies group the details of which can be found at http://www.castlewales.com/csg.html

Geoff .. Hi again.
Are you not a member of the C.S.G. ?
Castle Studies Group of the U/K/ is an excellent organisation (of which I am a member), and not expensive to join.
I am also the editor of 'Postern', the U.K.'s only magazine devoted to Castle Studies & Travels. Articles mainly written by ordinary people. If you want any more info. please contact.

Is this the same CSG for which Philip has provided a link?

Have not seen that link yet.
But basic info is C.S.G. is (at 1st April 200) only £6. per year. For that you get an excellent newsletter (last one nearly 70 pages), a bibliography from John R Kenyon. A must listings of pubilshed U.K. works (and some others).
The great thing about the C.S.G. is that they have a conference\tour once a year for members (which you of course pay for). I have attended two of these, they are great, exhausting fun. And you get to talk shop, if you want.
Next one (which I'll hate to miss) is the first outside the U.K. Belguim & Luxembourg.
One can always e-mail the editor Neil Guy at
Neilguy2@cs.com
Ciao Pete
