I hope you can answer any of these questions:Where there any women knights other that Joan of Arc? How was a knight trained?

Was Joan of Arc actually knighted? I'm not sure of that, but Knighthood was certainly thought of as being a male preserve.

Knights were trained starting from age 7 when a boy would be sent to a relative's castle to learn the necessary skills. He became a page and had to fetch carry and run messages - to generally learn to serve his master (a knight). From 14 to 21 (when he was finally knighted) the squire would learn all aspects of horsemanship and combat and would support his master at the lists (jousting) or at war. He would not usually join in the fighting but sometimes young boys were initiated to make up fighting numbers before battle. Hope this is of some help.------------------
