Just in case people has not noticed - Today's TimeTeam is about the search for a castle at Henley-in-Arden in Warwickshire (presumably the Motte and Bailey shown on the O.S. map) and next Tuesday at 8pm Channel 4 starts an 8 part series on The Tower of London.

Hi Andy,
I caught the programme, which was quite good. The amount of information that 'was not' brought to light must be amazing. What they did was to only scratch the surface (sorry, no pun intended) of the site.
It looked like the walls good still stand to several feet under all that rubbish.

hi andy,
thanks for reply to e-mail.I havent visited any of the castles you mention although caerphilly is on my list of must-go-to places. The big castle nearest to me is conway-a wonderful place but not my favourite. I love caergwle and flint -not a lot left standing but deserted (shunned even)by most people and full of atmosphere. also left as they were which is important i think - we have an ancient monastery near us which the council saw fit to rennovate (as opposed to preserve) by sticking avery modern visitors centre and reception office right inside the two main rooms. horrible!!!

All times are PT (US)
