I am looking for castles that may be connected with my ancestors family names. They are as follows:In Ireland-Boyd and O'Hanlon (any castles there related to these family names?-We also have Fagans and Kearneys in Ireland, but I'm pretty sure that there are no related castles.) In Wales or England-Pierpoint and Morgan Thanks |

Hi, try looking at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~hanlon/history/hanlon-history.htm for O'Hanlon and http://www.clanboyd.org/index.shtml for Boyd. Also, http://www.clanfagan.com/castle.html If I find any more I will post again.Regards, Paul of Paul's castle http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/castles/ [This message has been edited by Paul (edited 07-12-2005).] |

Newark Castle (Nottinghamshire), which was owned by the Bishop of Lincoln Had a Constable for the Crown from 2nd November 1317 named Rober de Pirpount. An early spelling of the name. Early spellings of names are not always the same as modern ones, so search around variants of the name. Peter |
