Like the subject says - which castle has a highest donjon in the world, and how high it is. Also link will be appreciated.

I think I've heard about some castle in France, which isn't that large but has huge donjon of 200m... It seems a bit to much to me, but I've seen a picture of a man standing besides it, and all I can say that donjon is humongous, can be easily over 60m high... really ipressive!

Well I do not know which donjon is the highest in the world. But I can confirm that it is certainly not 200 metres high. I think the highest were not higher than 50 metres, I guess.

Think we have had this subject before?
But in the last Postern I wrote about Coucy, France, which was 54 metres high. Before being destroyed by the Gremans in the First World War.

Sorry, couldn'find the topic.
Yup, Couchy it was. And the donjon height was around 200ft, not metres, of course - huge as hell anyway!
It's really sad that such a magnificient structure was ruined I've read that they're rebuilding it, and I surely hope it's true...

Re-build Coucy!
No that would be something.
Having visited the site some years ago, I can assure you that the pile of rubble is as high as some towers.

Some Towers didn't need to be all that high as they were placed on the edge of a tall cliff. Some that come into that category include Edinburgh and Stirling Castles, and perhaps even more spectacularly, Dunnotter Castle, which is on a coastal stack:

I'd also be intrigued if anyone knows which is the highest castle from the perspective of height above sea level.

Levan, I think we also had this question before. Two from Switzerland which could be the highest:

Guardaval 1790 m. above sea
and
Tuor Spaniola 1870 m. above sea
(but this one is only a tower)

Both are in the upper part of the engadin-valley near St.Moritz, the first one at Mudulain, the second one at Pontresina.
