could someone please tell me how one gets a "signature" to attach to posts? Is it something I missed when I registered?

Go to profile and your see a large box that will appear on the left, i hope. |

Well i guess hoping wasn't good enough... its not under profile, the only thing that pops up is name and password...
is it a cookie or something that my PC might not support? |

Go back to profile, fill in your name and pass word, then submit, scrol down untill you see a box on the left that says signature, thats the spot your looking for. Your have the option to use it at every posting. |

You will really have to have cookies enabled though. If you have to reenter your password at every visit you probably haven't got cookies enabled. (Whoever came up with the term cookies for this small piece of coding and why use a informal term for chefs!)  ------------------

I don't have cookies enabled and the signature works for this pc, now those little yellow things are a different matter. |

Yes Duncan you're quite right you don't need cookies to get the signature although this does mean you have to sign in on each connection. Sorry to mislead.------------------

I didn't see it as misleading or a problem. Of course with this pc things arn't the same as any one elses. |

They don't need much help with servers like the one i have. It was sold to a larger 'who cares' corp. last year and their proving that slogan every day. This poor old PC has it's own problems. We are now useing, when time allows, a rewriteable CD unit to transfer what files are left after the hard drive fragmented beyond repair on to disks and then comes a new Pent. 4 PC, maybe even with a spell checker! and, a Oxford dictionary so i can understand Philip alittle better. I'll send him the Websters and we both will be confused. |

He has been and i 'sort of hold my own' that is untill he gets going. It's alot like the Irish Gailic i was taught as a child with many parts changed, i'm not getting smacked by the nuns with rulers {yard sticks}any more which is a good thing.

Suprisingly the use of wicked to mean good may well come from west Africa and has stuck around with african slaves and there descendents for several hundred years.The most archaic english still spoken (that closest to Shakespeares English) is supposedly that spoken on some of the islands off Virginia. It's strange to think that Shakespear would find it easier to understand an american than a modern Stratfordian. |

I dont find it particularly strange. We are such a backward country. I mean, we still dont use metric, we can't seem to make our spaceships work right (due to metric/standard confusions), AND look at who we elected for president! "dubya"
prepare for the end...
