Just to provoke a few witty and, no doubt, sarcastic replies, may I ask where the Scribe and the Moderators find the time to, well, moderate the forums ? What with WORKING and EATING and DRINKING and SLEEPING (do you sleep ?), how DO you find the time ?
Maybe, dare I say it, some of you are semi-retired (what bliss). I must say that I stumbled across this website by accident, but I now visit it almost daily, not only to learn a little, but also to communicate with those who don’t fall asleep at the mention of the word “castle”.
Here’s to more wit, fine wine, sarcasm and castle talk. (ESPECIALLY the fine wine)

Personally I'm fully retired and, whilst enjoying the occassional glass of wine, perfer a pint of bitter. My major problem with writing is getting my beer gut out of the way so I can get near enough to the keyboard.
I do wonder how wurdsmiff manages a fulltime job, fishing and posting twice the number of posts than anyone else. I imagine an understanding wife helps (Perhaps she not only cook his meals but cut them up and pop them in his mouth as he sits infront of the keyboard.)------------------

Perhaps a real ale rather than a fine wine would suit, usually intravenously since I can't lift the glass and type at the same time! I actually do the cooking, and Janette washes the dishes. I can't stand the many soap operas on tv, whilst Janette is an avid fan. Add up the number of soaps on TV and you'll realise that if I leave her in peace to watch them undisturbed, being a kind and understanding husband, I have several hours of free time each evening. ------------------

I would just like to add a comment to Andrew's in respect of the site. It is an excellent site, its perhaps strongest point is it being interactive. Yet, if you want to carry contact or comment further on a personal level, it easy to do so.
To me, the castle is only a small part of the whole picture. And no one person can buy, own, or find every scrap of information\booklet etc. Even John Kenyon at Cardiff relies on people like ourselves to feed him information, photo-copies etc.
My thanx are added also, everyone does a great job.

I retired early from a govenment job a few years ago. My wife and i now run our buisness full time and building the project is an occupation in it self. Thats why alot of my posts are far shorter then i would wish them to be and why i don't always get to answer. As with every one else i'm here becouse i get to learn while talking castles.
An older fine wine would be nice about now, maybe with a good steak and fresh bread.

hehe, what a bunch or crazies we are. I'd have to agree w/ AJR. I stumbled on the forums from the "castles on the web" site and now come here all the time. I'ts very rewarding to be able to learn and then help others with what you've learned. (which is why I haunt the school projects forum)------------------

I concur with Duncan - a steak and fresh home-made bread would go well with the fine wine - preceded by garlic mushrooms, and followed by a large piece of lemon cheesecake. |

Yeah, right. I must agree with a lot of stuff, like the tumbling in the forum and that we're all a bunch of crazy whacko's.Orc saying: "Let's jump up and down on their 'eads for a bit." ------------------
