I am interested in learning (seeing) what the inside of a castle looks like, for decorating reasons. Does anyone know of a good book with pictures in it that would help me, I would be really happy to hear from you.
thanks!

I've got a book called Discovery; Castles by Barbara Taylor, published by Hermes House (it's a kid's book). It has a wonderful picture of a castle interior on page 16. There's a sort of mural and loads of stars. You can get tapestries from companies like Past Times in UK. They look v authentic.Good luck!

Excellent link.
A good book for pictures and drawing of the period, as well as insights into the way of life is, "A Medieval Miscellany".

Yes, some of the historic pictures on the linked site are realy good. But the fotographs with that mix of medieval furniture and modern lifestyle are realy awful! Medieval style and the comfort of a modern bathroom just don't fit together...
(just my point of view)

Very cool topic. As a writer of fantasy and science fiction, I am always on the lookout for background material that will lend verisimilitude to my fiction. I am very glad that a friend of mine recommended this site. And glad I saw this topic.

Hi there Robin. I recently re-decorated my bedroom into my own castle room! I did this very cool stone blocking pain technique...very easy to do and it looks amazing and the rod iron candle sconces really set it off! If interested, I can let you know how I did it.
