In Paul Kendall Murray's book on Richard III, he sets out the whole initiation process for becoming a Knight of the Bath.
He was led to his chambers by two 'governors' and there ritualistically bathed, and instructed on the rites of the order. Then he had a night's vigil in the chapel, ending with confession, matins and Mass. Then he slept for a short time, before being arrayed for the final rite. He was escorted to the king, his spurs were fastened to his heels, his brother gave him a sword. Then he returned to the chapel to offer up his sword and swear to be a good knight. Then he sat at the table and watched others eat, not being allowed any food. Then finally he was escorted back to his chamber.

this information comes from 'The Manner of Making Knighs after the custom of England in time of peace and at the coronation, that is to say Knights of the Bath' from Stowe's historical Memoranda printed in Three Fif.Cen. Chrons, pp 1-6-13. See also Hearne's Fragment, p.10.

This is taken directly from the biography notes. Hope it helps.
