construction and related interests!
Gothic BuilderCastles are not out of reach while in Germany for the U.S.Army I had the chance to see many small castles one if which cought my eye it was a old farm house that had been incased with stone, walls 2ft. thick. with a 30ft. turret and ramparts. The owner said that so much (as far as buildings) had been lost in the war that he built it to leave it behind for his childeren. So in the same manner I am incaseing a 2000sq.ft. House which will probably end up in the sq.ft. of 2800 sq. ft. in stone with turret and all. After all said and done I quess about 200 or 300 ton of stone should do it. Have 30 ton in place now on the fence 150ft. long the turret is next at 35ft. tall. So it can be done. Good luck to any one building there dream. It dose not take thousands and thousands to do it just hard work.
TheScribeGB: Couple of questions; Where are you building this at? What is the approx. cost of a ton of stone. And what type/size of stone do you refer to? Thanks!
