AJRI recently enjoyed a trawl through a couple of second-hand bookshops, and, amongst others, purchased a booklet entitled Notes on Taunton Castle by A.W. Vivian-Neal & H. St. George Grey. It was published in 1941 by the Somerset Archaeological & Natural History Society, and apparently has a sister booklet called Materials for the History of Taunton Castle.

Does anyone have a copy of this booklet ?

PeterNot heard of this one Andrew.
It still surprises me regarding the amount of material still out there, that is not widely known.
Must try and dig some more of mine out.
A KnightA good source for Taunton Castle is 'The Archaeology of Taunton' Edited by Peter Leach - Western Archaeological Trust 1984 - ISBN 904918 24 6.
This refers to the booklet at part of Vol 86 of the Proceedings of the Somerset Archaeological and Natural History Society.

AJRThanks Andy - I knew someone, somewhere, would come up with the answer, sometime.
Thanks again
Andrew
