MarkoI'm a great fan and regular visitor of COTW. I often use the very extensive links database as the starting point of my travels around the web.
But I don't agree to the adding of much of the new accommodations links recently. Luckily COTW has been kept relatively free of commerciality. I think it should stay that way. A lot of the recently added accommodations links are just concealed advertisements. In my opinion the accommodations links section is intended only for accommodations related to castles; links such as; http://www.celticcastles.com/ or http://www.chateau.mcmail.com/
And certainly not links such as; http://www.ukhotel.com/london/millers.htm or http://www.keswickb.com/welcome.htm

I'd like to know your opinion on this, Scribe.

Philip DavisI'd like to second Marco on this one. Accommodation in castles, or possible other medieval buildings or newer structures with a clear castle or medieval theme, is ok. A database of vast numbers of accommodation, most of it not castle related, becomes useless since it is too large and unrewarding to browse.

wurdsmiffI have to admit that there are a great many advertising sites on COTW, and my own page has developed into one of these, if perceived that way. My original intention was to collect information, though none was forthcoming, and I have tended to add in more about my project. I would have no objection, if The Scribe decides to remove such links, to removing those parts of my site which may be construed that way. I would say though that it I am hardly likely to become rich through sales, and may just recoup my costs.
I hoped that my page would illustrate the diversity and sheer numbers of sites in my area, but must admit that now it looks more like an ad.
I suppose what I am really saying is that if we exclude accomodation ads, then we must look at them all, and I have no objection to that.

TheScribeThanks, sometimes I have to be reminded I have installed a new category called Travel which will carry the general travel links. Although they are not Castle related we get about 100 request a month for these type of accomodations. Once again, thanks!

Ooops, I should mention that this is a subcategory of Travel and Accommodations. You will find a link to on the top of that page.
