*Amanda*Peter Hi,
I think you will be better obtaining something from your local library.
Though in general a plain white background would be needed to start with. Wall-hangings, perhaps some weaponary, the odd shield. Furniture was very limited. Chests, bench's, a rough hewn table ... and plenty of straw for the floor etc.
PeterMaria How about one or two gothic windows? Levan Many castles had plain walls. Other castles had shapes painted onto the walls and ceilings (so it looked like wall paper or tiles) - this was especially common in Scotland, and also in castles I've seen in France and Spain. The ceiling at Castle Levan and Traquir House have paintings of hunting scenes, musical instruments and mythological figures.
