dennis My name is Dennis Entrikin and I know my last name is Scottish, however I can not find anything about my heritage. The Entrikin name was changed when we came to America but I don't know what it was. I have looked through many books that have clan names in them and I cannot find Entrikin or anything that even comes close. Any help would be greatly appriciated.

the name Entrikin (or Enterikin), is mainly found in Paisley, Bridgeton, Denniston ... Renfrew.
If you go to: www.familysearch.com
Go into search ancestors, put the name in, then log into Scotland ... lotsa info there.
Gordon The name is actually quite rare, and many families migrated to the central belt in search of work. However, Enterkin as a surname is generated from the place of the same name, in Durisdeer Parish, Dumfriesshire.
