Having a surname which is obviously related to the building of castles particularly, and knowing many other trade related surnames, I invite you all to add to the following short list of names which describe the trade carried out by the originator. It doesn't have to be an English language name, though an English explanation would help!

Fletcher, a man who feathered arrows.
Napier, A person who cared for the linen of the house.
Smith, a worker in metal, wether a Blacksmith(iron), silversmith goldsmith etc.
Stewart, a steward or 'housekeeper'.
Butler, a manservant.
Falconer, a trainer/keeper of falcons.
Tranter, a retreiver of the hawks and their kill.
