GlenndaFor years I have been fairly interested in my family history but it has only been recently that I began a serious search for those roots. My father passed away last year and with him vaualbe information that I was to young to ever appreciate or pay much attention to. He was also the last of our male line. I am a 51 year old, single mother of 2 and the name is "Dupuy". I know our line began in France and there are vague stories of a small town and castle where the name was born. I have located the family coat of arms but no information on the townsite. If anyone has any information of this area or places to continue my search I would be ever so grateful. I would like to pass our history to my children before it is to late for them.

Not much help I'm afraid, but it's all I got.

PeterGlennda.
The good news is that that name does indeed abound in France, and in several well defined regions.
The bad news is .. there are lot of them. Have a look and do some happying hunting at www.familysearch.com

Just go into search, type the name in, and set France, don't worry about anything else.
You can print them all off and study them with a strong coffee.
When you have some specific areas, come back to us and we can set the lads loose on them, to see if any have a castle.
Let us know anyway.
Ciao ..... Peter

GlenndaThank you gentlemen.....the hunt has now begun.
