MerlinAragon was, before becoming a provinve of the spanish kingdom, a kingdom itself. The kings of Aragon, starting from a very small territory that was left over after the fall of the kingom of the Visigoths and the Spanish Mark created by Charlemagne (8th century), became very mighty during the 12th - 14th century. They were also kings of Sicily at the end of the 13th century and enlarged their kingdom during the Reconquista (the fight against the muslims in Spain).
levanneAnd of course a famous daughter of Aragon was Catherine who married prince Arthur and the Henry viii of Englnd.
