Restormel is a lovely example of ringwork castle with a shell keep, with fine views over the river Fowey. English Heritage do print a guide book for the site and you should look at their website at http://www.english-heritage.org.uk/

Philip Davis The original castle was probable built, about 1100, by Baldwin Fitz Turstin. Like most castles it has undergone several changes of ownership since though since 1299 it has been part of the Duchy of Cornwall. It is now in the care of English Heritage.
