hochbergDear you!

I am interested in any kind of information about the castle FÜRSTENSTEIN in the South West of Poland.
In particular I would like to know anything regarding the reason why Hans Heinrich Hochberg XVII/John Henry Hochberg XVII (same person) moved to England just before the outcome of World War II., and why the family Hochberg did not return to FÜRSTENSTEIN after the War.
I am also interested in information about John Henrys life in England.

Thanks a lot!

Hochberg

ipflobetter answer late than never

he moved to england because he disliked the nazis. the hochberg family didn't return to fürstenstein/ ksiaz castles, because silesia had became part of poland and the communists confiscated the hochberg castles in silesia after 1945.

if you know to want more you should buy the book 'Schloß Fürstenstein. Erinnerungen an einen schlesischen Adelssitz.' (castle fürstenstein, memories of a silesian castle) from W. John Koch, http://www.amazon.de/exec/obidos/ASIN/3870571381/qid=1015360146/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_0_1/302-0933480-1867234

ipfloi don't think the original topicstarter will ever read this. but for the people who want to know how castle ksiaz looks like.

go to http://www.poczta-polska.pl/mw/ and than choose for ksiax

or look at
