efenglomI'm looking for a possible web based source for good plans on Warwick Castle and if not available then a recent publication that might have a good floor plan and or elavations. I'm collecting information in general on Warwick town, the castle and Warwickshire, with an emphasis on the castle. I have found the "official" site and though it has useful photographs the information is not very in-depth. Thank You.
Philip DavisUnfortunately good, in depth, online material on medieval castles is difficult to find, particularly with regard to plans. The best site by far for depth and width is the Castles of Wales http://www.castlewales.com/home.html unfortunately, although it does feature a few english castles, Warwick is not one of them.
Regular Castles on the Web contributor Helen Sullivan's very good site at http://www.geocities.com/Area51/Hollow/7231/castles.html does feature a plan a Warwick castle taken from Sidney Toy's book Castles; Their Construction and History. The actual book has some good plans and sections of Ceaser's Tower and the gatehouse.
