shelly123Just wondering if anyone has any information on the above Castle.

It is somewhere in England, maybe Redditch?

I know this is very vague but it is all I have at the moment.

Thanks for you time

Shelly

AJRStudley Castle is in Warwickshire, England, which indeed is close to Redditch. The Ordnance Survey map reference for the castle is SP 082638
PeterStudley castle as it is today is a fairly modern affair perhaps 170\180 years old. I'm afraid I don't know its present use. The area also has the remains of Studley Priory. There is also a local hall know as Gorcott.
Philip DavisI visited a couple of years ago. There is, as Peter says, a fairly modern looking house there (though I have a text saying it was built in the early 16th century), but it is within part of a round moat and some slight earthworks can still be seen. Just south is a small church with a fine Norman doorway. The castle lies in a vale below the modern town. The castle clearly was never particularly large or strong.

AJRLooks like I got beaten to quoting the article from Mike Salter's "The Castles & Moated Mansions of Warwickshire". (See General Genealogy), which I originally posted here, but deleted after seeing Philip Davis' posting.

Philip DavisAh well next time maybe.
AJRJohn Kinross, in his "Discovering Castles in England & Wales" states

"Where the river Avon joins the Arrow, once stood the Norman castle of William de Corbucion. Peter Corbucion later founded a priory, the remains of which can still be seen at Priory Farm."

Philip DavisThese days the church and castle (and I guess the priory) stand in isolation from the town which, in early times, moved up the hill to be closer to the road. It's ironic that the town now campaigns for a bypass to be built.
Anne-MareeStudley Castle is owned by a private consortium & is hired out for various functions/conferences. My husband recently returned to Australia after attending a conference there.
LevanI used to live in the grounds of "Studley Castle". At the time it was the Rover/BMW training centre. This Studley Castle is not actually on the site of the original Studley Castle, which is about 0.5 miles away. The only remains of the original castle is the motte, on which now stands a lovely 17th century farmhouse. I have pictures of the 'new' Studley Castle, which is spectacular in its own way.
