[This message has been edited by Friedrich (edited 02-21-2001).]Friedrich I am a Junior High Band instructor in Illinois. My band is performing Two Irish Sketches by Dave Black. The first movement is subtitled The Legend of Tully Castle. We would like to know if, in fact, there is a legend, and any other information that would be interesting to our performance. The second movement is The Dance of the Leprechans. Duncan: Does Sir John Hume have something to do with Tully Castle or is that just an interesting Irish legend? duncan I know of no legend, but the history of Sir John Hume's tower house lends itself for one after a R. Maquire slaughtered most of those with in its walls on a christmas day in 1641.
The tower has been left empty according to my sources since then.
Maybe some one else can help you with more infomation.
